Wetterhorn Basin Hike...August 13, 2004
This was a stunning day in many ways. The sunrise on the Sneffels Range was gorgeous. The weather was perfect. I didn't see anyone else on the trail. An added bonus was a fighter jet that flew up the west fork valley to the wall of Coxcomb and then went straight up. I was near the pass when I heard the rumble and turned to look. He was actually below me at that point, and then shot straight up out of sight. I don't think they're supposed to do that but it sure gave me goosebumps. I didn't have time to take a photo. I remember thinking..."I'm glad they're on our side." What a grand day - around 13 miles roundtrip. It was my first use of a simple point and shoot digital camera.
