Sunset Mesa 

Later in the afternoon I noticed that the clouds on the San Juans were looking very good.  Though it's a long telephoto shot, I decided to go up on Sunset Mesa by the cemetery and try to get some photos.  I wouldn't have time to drive up to Ridgway.  They turned out ok for zooming so far.  I can't get enough of photographing those mountains.  Panasonic G95

North Fork Ride

We headed up to the Paonia/Crawford area to see if we could photograph some critters.  It was surprising to see some bucks that still had swollen necks from the rut.  We also saw one buck with only one antler.  But, it could have been broken off fighting or who knows what.  It was fun - even though there weren't any big bucks.  Panasonic G95

A Killer In The Yard

A killer showed up in the back yard this morning.  We see one a couple times per year usually.  They sure make the other birds disappear in a hurry.  We've seen them dive into bushes after the song birds, but have never seen one get anything. They sure have some impressive talons.  I'm not sure if it's a Swainson's Hawk or a Cooper's Hawk.  We got a bunch of snow in the mountains.  Made for a nice sunset up on Buckhorn.  Panasonic G95

River Birding

Another day birding at the river.  Overcast - but sometimes that's good!  We got a Panasonic G95 for Joann, so I used it today.  We're not sure we'll keep it though.

River Walk

What a great birding photography day this was down at the river.  Lots of cooperative subjects.  The variety of birds is amazing in this world.  What an great creator we have.

Black Canyon

I took a drive up to the Black Canyon to see what I could photograph.  All I saw was a buck trying to hide in the brush.  I decided not to take any canyon photos.  Sony RX10IV

Ridgway

We did a little ride up toward Ridgway.  The wind was howling and blowing around the San Juans.  It was beautiful.  Nikon P950
