We made a quick trip to Vernal - just one night.  I wanted to see if Diamond had gotten even better since it appeared it was recovering last year.  It was the worst run we've ever had on Diamond.  Very few animals.  We saw some deer and a nice bull elk with his ladies, but no nice bucks.  Oh well, it was a nice escape back to Vernal anyway.  We ran up on Dinosaur on our way home - that was nice. I went wandering at the refuge by Delta again today.  It was a great day.  I saw lots of birds, including a Great Horned Owl.  They are rare to see down there.  It was way too warm for the end of October, but still good.  Panasonic G97

You guessed it - another P77 evening.  On up the Big Cimarron we ran into a buck by the road scraping some willows.  He was really going at it. The sunset was gorgeous this evening.

 I've been trying out a Panasonic G97 for Joann mostly.  We're thinking of going back to micro 4/3 cameras as the long lenses for the Nikon Z cameras are so expensive.  We'll likely be selling the Z50 II.  Nikon Z50 II

Today we wandered up to Ridgway.  We only saw a few deer, but the mountains were stellar as usual. The colors are nearly done.  They sure surprised me this year.  They were very nice and lasted a long time.  I didn't expect that in a dry year like this.  Nikon Z50II

Happy 71st birthday to me!  haha My lovely bride scheduled dentist appointments for us this morning.  It was routine, but didn't end up that way.  I have to get a crown in a couple weeks - my first - so I shouldn't complain.  This afternoon up to P77 we went.  It was a good run and made my day!  Thank you Lord for another trip around your sun and life with your Son!  Panasonic G97

Aspen Trail Hike

I do this hike at least once each year.  It's about 5 miles total.  It wasn't as hot as most times I've hiked it.  Best of all - no bugs!  yay.  It was a bit unusual to run into a few other people on the trail.  That doesn't usually happen.  One lady had a very aggressive dog.  She had it on a leash, but I could tell it would drag her around if it wanted to.  She said it was aggressive and it acted that way, so why take it where you might run into other people and dogs?  Nikon P950
