Hampton Lake Hike
5.3 miles
Today I took off and hiked a trail we've driven by many times. I just thought it went up in the trees a ways and that was it. After studying it a bit on GAIA, I found that it actually went to a couple lakes. It's very steep at the beginning, but not dangerously so. I had been raining a few days before so the ground was not dry and that made the steep section better. Fall colors were in nearly full swing. I didn't see anyone else on the trail. There were a couple people by Fish Creek Reservoir (which was very low) but they had come up through the private subdivision. It rained fairly hard on me for about 20 minutes. I just got under a tree and waited it out. It thundered a bit, but no lightning close. There's another branch on this trail that I'm going to have to go test out next summer. It was a fabulous day - thank you Lord! Nikon Z50II
