P77 run tonight.  Saw a couple fair velvet bucks.  The light was nice on the mountains.  It's good to see some stormy looking clouds.  They've been rare this summer.  Nikon Z50 II

Beautiful P77 run tonight.  The light was fantastic and it was even a bit stormy on the high peaks.  That's why we go up there so much - it's always changing.  I've included one of Joann's Nikon P950 red tailed hawk photos because she could zoom in on it a lot more than me.  Nikon Z50 II

Today we wandered up the Cimarron middle fork.  It was a nice cloudy day in God's great outdoors.  I can't seem to get enough.  Nikon Z50 II

A nice trip up Fall Creek today with Allen.  It was way to hot to do much hiking.  And it was pretty buggy.  But, still good to get out.  Nikon Z50 II

Hot again. Since it was supposed to be windy I took off for a hike on the East Bull Spur atv trail which ties into the road by East Bull. The trail was powder. The ground is cracking and bushes were turning colors like fall, but sure not from cold. Saw a grouse family and lots of elk tracks, but no elk. No deer either. Lord we sure need rain. If it hadn’t been for the wind, it would have been way too hot. Didn’t see anybody back in there. Went about 4.5 miles in the loop.

Got cleaned up when I got home and later in the evening we went up on Bostwick to see where that Black Canyon fire was. Then went on up on P77. Didn’t see much. A few deer…one dandy buck (no photo). Great day outdoors. Sure looking forward to cooler days and nights.  Nikon Z50 II

No church today as it was Serve the City. Nor did we go to Delta as we were there Friday evening for the Lovato’s 72nd anniversary.

Another scorcher and late in the day smoke everywhere. We picked up Landon and Shelly and went up P77 and Big Cimarron in the evening. Saw quite a few bucks…some fairly big for this area. Had a whole herd of elk cross the road in front us on the way down. Too dark to photograph or video. Lots of calves in the bunch. They were very vocal. Even heard a bull bugle. Saw a couple owls too but couldn’t get photos. Ran into Ryan and Garrett up there too. Good evening. A bit sad as Landon and Shelly had to have Hanah put down on Friday. She was 15 and had a long good life. Nikon Z50 II

Joann and I headed up to Waunita Pass. It’s not too scenic or exciting. Lots of people though…as usual. We saw a bear running down the hill onto the highway just before Cimarron. He saw the traffic and ran back up the hill.  We had a left over smoked braut supper up Gold Creek near the Lamphier trailhead. Pretty windy and hot and crazy traffic. But, still blessed to be able to get out.  Only did video today.
