Hike July 2, 2019

Hike July 2, 2019
This section of the Dallas Trail was quite new to me.  I'd been on it years ago with my sons, but we didn't go very far.  Today I hiked from the East Dallas road to the Box Factory Park road and back.  The views toward the end were stunning to say the least.  There was lots of cotton floating in the air.  I did not meet anyone until I was nearly finished with the hike.  Big black clouds made me hustle a bit for sure.  This post is picture heavy!  It was a fantastic, blessed day!

What a pretty spot to breathe your last!

Hike June 4, 2019
I was beginning to think this day would never come.  We had an epic snow winter, which at times resulted in San Juan snowpack of 600% of normal.  Trails are still very limited.  But, a hike in the mountains is better than the desert any day in my opinion.  I could not go very high on this hike - again due to the snowpack.  A small hike is better than no hike at all.  I met a guy from Arizona 6 times on this hike - he was running up and down the mountain.  He ran up and down the trail 3 times while I was walking it once.  It makes no sense to me - running and watching your feet!
Views like this never get old!

Selesca Pond June 3, 2019

I'd been getting really anxious to get up in the mountains.  So, I tried to go as high on the plateau as possible.  I couldn't get much above the Selesca Ranger Station due to lots of snow still blocking the road.  I decided to take a little hike anyway and see what I could find.

Lots of water and a few flowers

Noisy frogs in all that water
