November 28, 2025. Friday.

We took off to Sanborn today. We were going to walk but the wind was blowing and surprisingly there were still muddy spots in the road. I’d just wash the Jeep after the Minnesota creek mud mess. So we turned around before we got to Turkey Plot road. We came home and then went up on Bostwick and then Kinikin. We didn’t see any critters in Sanborn other than a couple crows. Saw a couple bucks and turkeys elsewhere. Pretty sad this year on the deer rut. OMD EM1 III

November 25, 2025. Tuesday. Nice day.

High in the 40s. Tramping by the river again today. Still no unusual birds. Nikon P950

 November 24, 2025. Monday.

We had to go to Paonia to pick up our Allison’s Pantry order as Chris couldn’t make it until Wednesday. We drove as far up Minnesota Creek as we dared go. We got to just below the dam for Beaver Reservoir. It was too muddy to go further. We did quite a bit of sliding as the tires tread got filled with mud. At one point we stopped and I used a stick to clean the tires some as we were headed down a fairly steep hill and didn’t want to slide crossways on the way down. A little anxious moment or two but all ended well. We saw quite a few deer and a few bucks. The Kendall’s own a lot of property up there and invited us to come any time. We ate supper at Zacks. Pulled pork sandwich and fries. It was a very good day. A big car wash job is coming tomorrow. OMD EM1 III

 November 20, 2025. Thursday.

It rained last night and the mountains were socked in all day. I hope it’s dumping up there. Cooler today. When I did the river walk it was in the upper 40s with a breeze. It felt really good. I should mention that to date we have not had any snow in town yet. OMD EM1 III

 November 18, 2025. Tuesday.

We took off over Sanborn to Norwood to see if we could find some bucks. There’s always lots of deer over there. Nope, not this time. We only saw a couple in town and way low on Dave Wood. Otherwise nothing. It’s crazy what’s happened to all the critters. OMD EM1 III

November 16, 2025. Sunday.

Yay there’s a storm coming. Another great day at church. We then watched the Broncos beat the Chiefs. I left at halftime and headed up on Bostwick. Joann stayed home. Many deer out but no nice bucks. It rained hard on me all the way home.

Joann and Sharon were doing crafty things today so I headed to EWR.  It was HOT.  Nearly 70.  What a weird year.  I saw a few deer and a few small birds.  I had a little buck walk right up to me while I was eating lunch. Bird photography has been bad lately.  Too warm I guess.  Nothing but sparrows for the most part.  We’re sure needing moisture and a cool down. OMD EM1 III

 November 14, 2025  Friday. 

We headed up Gunnison way today.  Turned off on the Lake City Cutoff.  We hoped to see some rutting bucks.  No such luck.  When we got to the highway, we headed up Cebolla quite aways.  We then decided there wasn’t much happening up there so we’d come back and hit P77 on the way home.  Not much there either.  We saw several deer but only one buck that seemed to be in the rut and he wasn’t all that revved up either.  Too many hunters.
